Anyone who knows Open Office well enough to tell me how to number the pages of an enormous document manually, I will offer you my first-born, never-going-to-happen child.

Alright! I think I figured it out!

Or something like that. I got the numbering to start on the second page (like you would a title page), but I can't get it to skip pages (like a chapter page).

Basically do all of the above, then go to Insert - Fields - Other.

From there, select Page in the Type column and then there's a bar labeled Offset on the bottom right. Type -1 and hit enter. Now numbering skips the first page.

That's as much as I've figured out though.

Oh, yes, I've run across that...all the tutorials tell you not to do that, though...thank you, though, I appreciate the attempt!

Yeah, I just saw that.

Oh well. The program is clearly run by nitpicky demons.
