I surrender. I *BLEEP*ing surrender.
Anyone who knows Open Office well enough to tell me how to number the pages of an enormous document manually, I will offer you my first-born, never-going-to-happen child.

I cast aside my Indian films in order to help you with this! I use Open Office for just about everything.
The first thing you will want to do is go to Insert - Header or Footer (whichever one you want to use) and select All. There should be a Header or Footer on each page.
Then go to Insert - Fields - Page Number. Numbers should apply to the top or bottom of each page.
Should work. I tried it on my own computer several times, first. :D

GAH, evil thing. Thank you, though. *hug*

Or something like that. I got the numbering to start on the second page (like you would a title page), but I can't get it to skip pages (like a chapter page).
Basically do all of the above, then go to Insert - Fields - Other.
From there, select Page in the Type column and then there's a bar labeled Offset on the bottom right. Type -1 and hit enter. Now numbering skips the first page.
That's as much as I've figured out though.
