Update, Samurai-Spanking, Miracle Whip (Not As Dirty As It Sounds, Unfortunately)

I've gotten unexpectedly ahead on the typing, so I figured there's no reason not to update. :)

So ahead, in fact, that I've been able to rest my fingers and do some other fun stuff. I didn't make a note of who recommended the manga of Ayane Yamano to me, but whoever it was, thank you! She won me over with Ikoku Iroikoi Romantan, and then I really liked that Loveprize...Finder...thingy. I don't remember precisely what it was called. And now I'm reading Crimson Spell. I love this mangaka! I've noticed that the main characters often look the same in different works, and I like that. It's like following the same people through different dimensions.

And though I'm still disappointed about Mr. Internet not having in its vastness the more recent episodes of Tenchijin, at least I'm getting to revisit the early episodes. And I had a chance to confirm something I thought I might have hallucinated. HA, I knew it! I KNEW I didn't imagine the samurai-spanking! Wikipedia was right, those dudes were horny. :)

Yes, this is the sort of thing I get up to. I'm not all angst, you know. Just mostly.

Finally, apropos of nothing, is anyone else getting annoyed at the new Miracle Whip commercials? Miracle Whip, you are not edgy, stop pretending before I ban you from my sandwiches for eternity.

Speaking of mangaka, have you ever heard of You Higuri? She is amazing. You've probably heard of the title Gakuen Heaven - the drawings were hers. I think she draws both BL (not really yaoi, but still) and het, but I'm not quite sure. I'd recommend Cantarella, about the life of Cesare Borgia, but with a few twists. It's not really BL-ish, but still amazing. If you want something more yaoi-y I'd recommend Gorgeous Carat, about a phantom thief (and his kidnapped servant, oh boy) in 19th century Paris.

Bah, commercials can be so annoying. I know nothing of Miracle Whip (which didn't strike me as a sandwich product, but something more... naughty), but I hate those commercials about cleaning product with Happy Smiling Housewives. Cillit Bang, Swiffer, Vanish Oxi Action... Bah. Not to mention those horrid ringtone commercials.

:) Thank you. I liked Gakuen Heaven, even though it was just a massive tease. Genesis got into quite the frothing rage when we watched the anime series and it ended with no sex. At all. Not even a hint. :(

Kidnapped servant? That's promising! :) What is with Japanese anime and manga persistently taking place in other countries? Well, I guess it makes a nice change now and then...

Oh yes, Gorgeous Carat is quite something. Though maybe kidnapped servant isn't the right term. It was more like... 'If you can't pay me and are not willing to give up your diamond, I'll take your son instead.' It sounds retarded when I say it like that XD
If you're looking for something more graphic (GC and Cantarella don't have any sex or hints about it, either), I'd recommend Wild Rock, but you've probably already heard about that.

Now I'm getting bad, bad mental images about Miracle Whip *shudders*

Yamano is amazing. I wish she would do a FFVII doujin. That would pretty much be the most flawless victory ever.

You might want to check out Inariya Fusanosuke's work as well. Gorgeous stuff. There's also Shin Mizukami, Hoshino Lily, Ike Reibun and Takeshi Matsu just to mention some of my favourites. ;3

I don't see most commercials anymore. Ever since I told Comcast to take their substandard cable service, turn it sideways and shove it up their ass, the TV in the Robo household is used solely to watch DVDs and play console games. Edgy Miracle Whip indeed.

Between not recognizing A.A. Attanasio (though he's been writing sf/fantasy long enough that I should've) or Yamane Ayano (I've seen the art all over without having a name to put to it), I'm starting to feel somewhat unlettered. I think I'm going to have to console myself with some classics soon. Time to dig out the Tolkien.

I'm really glad you liked it. I wasn't sure about that one. The inspiration on that one was kinda sudden but I'll do more if I get any ideas for another fic. I'm working my way through the translations so who knows what may happen. And I know what it's like to have more than one multi-chapter going on. I'm currently behind on two. I'll let you know if I do another though.
