Ooh, a fanfic writer's meme!

o1. What fandoms have you written for? Italicize your currently active ones!

Short answer here...Final Fantasy VII, Death Note, Yami No Matsuei...I think that's it. Aside from early, pre-game and anime stuff that I cringe to think of now.

o2. What pairings and genres do you find yourself writing over and over?

Zangeal, angst. I may have to rename them Zangstgeal. I am capable of pure silliness, though. Ask me what I once did to Silence of the Lambs.

o3. What's one fic you've written that you think is kinda under appreciated?

I think they're rather overappreciated, actually.

o4. What characters do you write so in-character it's kinda scary? Why do you do it so damned well!?

Hmm, I don't think I write anyone particularly in-character. I've been complimented a lot on my Sephiroth, and I do find him probably the easiest character to write. He's socially-inept and isolated; I know that well.

o5. What genres and characters are outside of your comfort zone? Why?

Pure, smushy romance isn't uncomfortable for me, but I don't think I could write without making everyone barf at the cheesiness. Het is icky to me in writing, so that's out. And a lot of people have asked me for another humor story a la Silence of the Chocobos, but I think I used up all my humor in that one. Now what's left goes in the Decorum series.

Cloud has become hard to write as part of a pairing, since I have the chibi version bouncing around asking me to hug him, but I'm trying not to let this impact Decorum.

o6. What are the best three fanfics, in your opinion, that you've ever written? Link us, please!

Hands-down, number one is The Madness of Angels. I don't even know how I pulled it off. And if the love for that one gets any more extreme, I may end up responsible for a cult.

Let's see...number two. I'm pretty happy so far with Pendulum, but it's still in progress and slow-going.

Finally...I don't know. I'm actually pretty proud of The Silence of the Chocobos. I wanted to do something I hadn't seen before - combine serious drama with total crack, and I think it worked.

o7. Pick out three lines from the fics in question 6 that are gonna knock our socks off.

I actually don't remember...I don't think so...

o9. How long have you been writing for? Can you find a short passage from an early work to show us your improvement?

I started too long ago to remember. I don't remember NOT writing. And dear Gaia, no. Let's just agree that I've gotten better. :)

1o. What inspires you to write a fanfic?

A happy mood, often induced by reading other people's fanfic that I like. Playing/watching the canon and wondering what if this, what if that. All of you guys. And naturally, the Choir. :)

Nah, I've just got to fill out drabble requests; I've hit some... planner's block, so I'm currently writing drabbles for people who give me prompts. It's helping, oddly enough.

And don't worry, Seph. I only give hugs to Choir!Cloud. And... uh... fuschias. *hands Cloud a hanging basket* But, you know, keep an eye on Pocket Axel 'cause he tends to take action when my attention is sufficiently caught by something else.

Generally I have the same problem; can't quite handle drabbles or crack because my head goes "why is this happening? what are the consequences? there isn't nearly enough detail here!" but in this case it's... writing out a single scene? It's an exercise, I guess, challenging myself to convey one moment in a fic and give it just enough to make it seem like a stand-alone. So... I suppose it does help. I've managed to format about half of the new and (hopefully) improved chapter two, at least.

There'll be a lot of those hanging from that basket eventually, and soon hummingbirds and butterflies'll be buzzing (or flapping quietly, as far as the butterflies are concerned) from all over the place. Drives cats crazy. Poor Odin.

Oh, good. That was going to be my next question... this particular species of fuschia is pretty sensitive, so just make sure they get water every evening and that they only stay in the sunlight in the morning and that they're in shade for the rest of the day.

Also, thanks for that meme; I had a lot of fun filling that out. Memories...

If I had to come up with a line from any of your stories that "knocks people's socks off", I'd be in trouble, too. There are just far too many (and as I said before, it's one of the reasons why I keep reading your stories).

And how can you say they are 'overrated'? Can your trusty fans be wrong? ;)

I'm thinking about giving this a try, but there are a few questions I can't answer... (and others I could rant an eternity about). Still, I might try at least. I'll let you know :)

I tried, but do you reckon the weather gods are listening to me? No such luck... I should be used to that by now. Just in time for the end of the school holidays, the hot weather returned over here(but at least it's dry, not humid).

I LOVED The silence of the chocobos! XD And Madness too, just in a different, angsty way. Bawled my eyes out.

I miss the Choir a lot - especially Gengen and his 24/7 mouth - will they show up anytime soon? I know Cloudy was pretty busy with his birthday, but maybe he and the rest can spare a few moments... ;o)
