Yes. Anyway, that partcular soundbyte was actually uttered by Genesis. Let me explain.

Amarissia & Choir were listening to some tracks from a BL drama, in Japanese, because Zack-Voice is in it and he's a very amusing uke, even when I have no idea what he's saying.

Zack: *grumbles* "Isn't."

So, I was translating the events -

Sephy: "Rather badly."

- as best I could, but between my own ineptness and Genesis mercilessly teasing Zack, I wasn't doing very well. I was quite excited when I was able to deduce that Zack-Voice (Suzumura Kenichi/Kennichi/Ken'ichi if you dislike hyphens) was trying to get away from an annoying female voice to escape to the bathroom. Which led Genesis to comment "Damn it, can't an uke pee in peace?!" Which led to laughter.

Not from Zack.

I listen to those audio dramas and feel way proud of myself for catching every tenth word or so, but really, all you need to listen to are the noises. In my opinion, at least.

Dang, SuzuKen is a busy boy. I've been listening to some of his subbed audio work. Sometimes I think I recognize some words and phrases and having the subtitles helps. Otherwise it's all blah blah blah smooch, blah blah moan. If I'm going to listen to dubious porn at the very least I have to know what's going on.

Son of a biscuit! All of the naughty Suzumura/Sakurai stuff you'd linked to got yoinked by YouTube! Damn, no wonder you're jonesing. What a crock. Ah well, I suppose Zack is happier not having quite so much of his voice-pr0n floating around.

The not knowing what SuzuKen is saying reminds me: how are you studying Japanese? Self-study textbooks, internet, Rosetta Stone? I keep getting tempted even though its usefulness to me is about that of a chocolate teapot.

Zack, your voice is a ball of joy and sunshine and he's cuter than a chocobo holding a chocobo plushie. Also, I think he's dating Cloud's voice. You should be happy.

I use self-study books and online lessons at smart.fm, and supplement with a lot of listening to native speakers...and of course, there's the evil kanji book I've just started working with. *shiver* I was thinking about Rosetta Stone, but yike, they're expensive for something that my timid little laptop might not even be able to handle. :)

I have Rosetta stone - the complete thing - and the laptop should be able to handle it. It's not that intensive a program. But expensive, yes. I like that you are able to use all kinds of variants to learn: pictures, pictures with voice, pics with voice and writing, writing with voice, just voice, just writing etc. And you can jump back and forth between the chapters, review, do tests etc. And even record yourself and have it compared to a native speaker. :)

Yes, it does. You can choose between having the text displayed as only Kana, mixed Kana and Kanji, or Romaji.

So you can hear and read at the same time. :)

:) Yes, I have, hee, I forgot to tell you! I like the voices...haven't gotten to any smuttiness yet but I'm enjoying following along in the summary and squeeing when I get a phrase right. I'll let you know, I've yet to see if it really captures me...

I've been trying to find ZAngeal doujinshis, but either the pairing is really rare or for some reason the Japanese didn't like the pairing, but there's almost nothing out there. *sigh* Maybe I have to learn how to draw, after all... ;P

I was watching "Yuugo The Negotiator" today. 13 episodes with subtitles. And I really understood quite a bit - ends of sentences, forms, words here and there, numbers... More than I thought. It helped, though, that they were speaking fairly concisely and at normal speed, and very often in the polite form. :)

Wind, hm? I... see... so *that's* what you call it, hm? I have to remember that one.

Really... I've searched my way through Yahoo.jp, through MSN.jp Auctions, through Mandarake etc. - no Zangeal. Or almost none. I did win one DJ just today, so I'll let you know how it is when I get it...
