...probably not a great idea, considering my recent inability to get chapters done in less than...some long amount of time. But update is here. Ha ha, Amarissia, now you have no choice but to write or face death threats again!

As long as I don't get distracted by gay samurai...ooh, gay samurai...

Zack: *face in hands* "No more gay samurai...someone please make it stop..."
Angeal: *hugs*

In other news, would anyone like to join me in a war to stop this incessant remaking of EVERYTHING? Does no one have original ideas anymore? Now ABC has got its grubby tentacles on V, which was an awesome miniseries that I spent a lot of time watching as a kid, thanks to my parents' old tendency to videotape EVERYTHING. Screw you, ABC. Go choke on your crappy sitcoms and die!

Remakes can be good, but I know the feeling. Oh well, one day they will remake FFVII in PS3 graphics, and all the hate will be forgotten because we'll all be too busy staring at the CGI hotties! ^-^
Now, to read the update! Tra-la-laaaaaa! *zooms off*

Originality was so '90s. And '80s, and everything that isn't this decade. Everything is basically one huge recycling plant now, except we water things down until it's bland and dull and boring and... a whole bunch of other words that mean "not fun anymore".
Monday, October 12th, 2009 07:13 pm (UTC)
Ugh, remakes. Very rarely are they any good... I understand how you feel, lately it seems they've been making remakes just for the sheer hell of it, and usually the new version sucks terrribly. Like kel_fish said, they water the content/meanings down until it's thinner than fish stock but with a lot less flavor.

One thing this reminds me of, which I saw online last night, was the plan to remake the first Resident Evil movie... it hasn't even been 10yrs since its release, so why?!

The only good remake I know of were Dawn of the Dead (the 2000s one)-- cuz I'm a sucker for fast zombies-- the Gamecube Resident Evil, and... well, I can't think of much else...
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 06:14 pm (UTC)
It's all so depressing. I don't even wanna think about what they'll do to Death Note. Probably give L a gun and cut out the extreme gayness chain arc. Waaah, now I'm thinking about it!

Some remakes are good, others are horrible. The remake of King Kong is just as if not better than the original. I must admit, V looks interesting, but if I watch it, I'll want to watch the original too XD

Epic update is epic :D
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 12:16 am (UTC)
Amen, woman!!! The only half-way decent remake I can say I really liked this year was Star Trek.

UPDATE WOOOOHOO!!!! Aaaaaahhhhh pooor Zaaaaaaaaackie!!!!!!! But alas, Puppy, your suffering usually ends up in Zangeal cuddling *COUGH*andsex*COUGH* and even YOU can't say you don't loooooove that :D

honey and smuuuuutttt
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 05:54 pm (UTC)
I haven't seen Star Trek yet...I'm kinda scared to. :) Was it horribly offensive to Trekkers or only mildly? :)

Zack: *pout* "If you mean hugging, I like that. But I'm really tired of being groped by strangers and Angeal doesn't like it either."

That's an understatement. If I didn't give Angeal Puppy-smut in my writing he'd probably kill me...
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 03:19 pm (UTC)
LOL! I´ve just watched the new (and only one I ever saw) Star Trek two days ago and it was awesome! I´m not a Trekkie, I haven´t seen the series, but I can recommend the movie ;o)

I guess Zack would like that, too, big ships, flying about in space...
Oh, and Eomer´s in it, too.
Saturday, October 17th, 2009 03:21 pm (UTC)
EOMER?! Now I'm really scared...

*pout* Trekkie is pejorative. I am a Trekker! BWA HA!

Alas, the Choir didn't know me back when I lived and breathed for TNG. But now Zack is interested in big ships, so maybe I'll have to show them!
Saturday, October 17th, 2009 07:36 pm (UTC)
Ooops, I didn´t know it´s pejorative. And what´s TNG? Is is sci-fi too?
Beware, with Zack you never know, he might start collecting/building ships and it takes lots of space... ;o)
Monday, October 19th, 2009 03:36 pm (UTC)
TNG is Star Trek: The Next Generation. It was the first spin-off of the original, and my first love. *stars in eyes*

:) That's okay, most people don't know the difference between Trekkie and Trekker. Like most people think "Beam me up, Scotty" is an actual quote.

I think there's enough space in the Choir's Closet. It's pretty vast in there, actually, I don't think the laws of physics apply in there...

What exactly...is V? XD
And I just read your update!
Gah! Everytime I see that you've updated, I just get so excited...and then I'm so impatient with the next one. I LOVE it! -squeals-
Tuesday, October 13th, 2009 05:46 pm (UTC)
V! *waves hands* V! It's terribly dated now, with awful hairstyles and such, but I so loved it as a kid. It's a miniseries about an alien race invading earth, and most people are all "Yay, the aliens are so nice and they've got a cure for cancer", and a small band of resistance fighters realizes they're EVIL and must stop them. Only it's better than I can describe. And ABC is gonna ruin it! *pout*

:) Thank you.

D:
Oh no....I'm not a fan of remakes.
I usually think that when it's been made...it's been made. XD
And, you are quite welcome! :D
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 07:23 am (UTC)
"You can tell me 'no' all you like, koi..." He wrapped his arms around Zack, held him close possessively and almost carefully. "...but not until I'm inside you," the man whispered into his ear.

...

D:

You know, just when I'm thinking I can't be squicked any more...

It's weird. Rape doesn't make me blink; child molestation, while not something I condone, is something I'm so used to seeing that I'm utterly desensitized to it; characters taking advantage of each other is rarely even seen as noncon; but for some reason that sentence freaked me the fuck out. So congrats, Amarissia! You still have the ability to squick the unsquickable!

I kind of wanted Tatake to end up not being terribly evil, since having him be so bad seems to transform the theme from "choose your own destiny" to "it's okay to not follow your destiny, but only if it's intolerably bad". But I'm obsessed with free will and inevitability, to I'm really not the best judge of this sort of thing.

Other than that...

Thank you for that lovely first scene! ♥ It's always refreshing to find something that still can revolt you. And Angeal's reaction in the second scene is priceless and a little frustrating. You push him away when he's actually around, but when he's gone you're suddenly insanely possessive? Make up your mind! And of course there will never be the right words to express the wonderful, amazing image that is Genesis and Sephiroth bursting in on Rufus and Reno's sexytime and kidnapping the Turk (I want a pic of Genesis carrying Reno like luggage, damn it!). Just...:D

I'm tired of all the remakes that are coming out too. However, I'm not terribly involved in visual media (books, manga, and videogames ftw!) and therefore am not entirely exasperated. Was V really that good?
Saturday, October 17th, 2009 03:26 pm (UTC)
V was the awesome. It's hilariously dated now, but I still find it moving. And I watched it over and over as a little kid, so it brings back warm fuzzy memories.

I squicked? I SQUICKED! That shouldn't make my day, but it always does. YAAAAAAAYZZZZ! Thank you!
Sunday, October 18th, 2009 03:13 am (UTC)
Hilariously dated the way Full House (the American one) is hilariously dated, or hilariously dated the way the old Bond movies are hilariously dated? :P

I'm still trying to figure out why that squicked me. I'm pretty unsquickable. Hell, read some of my fic! It's pretty squicky. I read worse things every day! But for some reason that one line just got me. Man did it get me. You, Amarissia, have a gift.

So, uh, you're welcome. Please keep squicking me! ;)
Monday, October 19th, 2009 03:34 pm (UTC)
Whichever had the worst hairstyles. I've never seen any Bond films.

Where do you keep this squick? I mean, fic. I really mean squick.

Hee, I'll do my best. I've got some ideas that the Choir have been BEGGING me to keep under wraps.
Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 12:52 am (UTC)
In that case, it's the Full House way. Now there is some awful hair.

*glances at LJ* Hmm, mostly I've posted PWPs, though I don't consider them to be particularly squicky. *coughs, hides dubcon Zack/fem!Cloud with Hojo watching under bed* Uh. Nothing particularly squicky! But I am working on a long fic right now that promises to be really, really squicky. But that's because I know exactly what squicks me most and incorporated all of that into the fic. I call it the "how to make Zack sexually abusive without making any of it out of character" fic. *cough* It's really hard to do, actually.

Oh, I have some like that too! Which is why there is some peripheral Jenova/toddler!Sephiroth in the long fic. I like making myself sick.
Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 01:52 pm (UTC)
*checks to make sure Sephy isn't listening* Okay, I wanna see that. I make myself sick too. :)

Genesis: "You already are sick. Which is why we get along."

Hee, now I must go looking for all of it. I can't seem to read Zack/Cloud anymore (Zack's really gotten stuck with that uke label), but maybe if it's squicky... *eyes glimmer evilly*
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 12:58 pm (UTC)
I remember V the miniseries being quite the topic of conversation in middle school. The resulting TV series stunk on ice, so I guess I'm more inured to whatever damage they're going to do this time around. No, the upcoming remake that scares me the most is the American adaptation of Death Note. No good can come of this.
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 04:24 pm (UTC)
'the American adaptation of Death Note.'
.....
D;
WHAT?!
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 04:52 pm (UTC)
The rights have been optioned, anyway. The first step towards a really bad idea.
Wednesday, October 14th, 2009 04:54 pm (UTC)
WHYYYYYYYYY?!?!?!?!
Death Note is good like it is.
D:
Saturday, October 17th, 2009 03:18 pm (UTC)
Writers from the CW?! That's it. There is no god.
Saturday, October 17th, 2009 03:58 pm (UTC)
I'm scared guys. Real scared. What is the TV world coming to nowadays? D:
Saturday, October 17th, 2009 03:22 pm (UTC)
I saw some of the series on...the Sci Fi channel, I think? It was horrific. But the miniseries was awesome.

I think I shall go spoil the ending so no one watches the remake. I remember the last few lines, people! I'm telling the world! I -

*is knocked out by Sephy*
Saturday, October 17th, 2009 03:48 pm (UTC)
Seph! You can't hit people for spoiling a 20-year-old story! That's like being pissed off when someone tells you that Jesus dies at the end of The Passion of the Christ! Now, if you wanna dope-slap her for making you bottom, that's a whole 'nother issue.

Did I say that out loud?
Monday, October 19th, 2009 03:43 pm (UTC)
OW! Robonun, don't give him ideas, please.

Sephy: *pleased smirk*

Cloud: "Who died? Someone died?"

Don't worry about it, dear.

Zack: "Yeah, most of us have died, right? Oh, crap, I didn't mean to say - " *is squeeze-hugged by Angeal* "Hey, I need oxygen here!"

Silly Zack. He should know by now not to refer to his death.

Zack: *feet dangling above floor, trying to escape*

Soooo, how goes Kyou Kara Maou? :)
Monday, October 19th, 2009 10:54 pm (UTC)
S'what you get for making me explain menstruation to Cloud. Share the love, share the bruises. :)

Haven't started watching KKM yet--I've gotten sucked into Aion, yet another shiny new MMORPG. I've only seen two characters named Sephiroth so far (however badly spelled) but there are a lot of spiky-headed guys running around, both Zack- and Cloud-style. The nifty part? Our characters get wings.
Wednesday, October 21st, 2009 02:09 pm (UTC)
Cloud: "I want wings!"
Sephy: "They're not as fun as they look."
Angeal: "Especially when you only have one."

Ooh, sounds fun. Anything with spiky-haired guys has possibility, at least. :)

Sephy: "Someone misspelled my name?" *glare* "I demand you punish them."
