Okay, that's it. I've seen all 37 episodes of Death Note. Not the movies yet, but I need to just absorb what I've seen for a while. Wow, that was a hell of an ending. I assume you've only clicked here if you don't mind spoilers, right? Good. Near and I officially okay now. He brought L's case to a successful conclusion and this mind-fuck of a series to an end in which justice prevailed.
*sigh* And yet...I feel a little bad for Light. I feel bad for anyone who comes so close to succeeding at anything and falls. All that screaming and panic and disbelief and the way he called out for help...it was so sad. But I did love that glimpse of L just before Light closed his eyes, as though L had never really left the case and turned up to see his adversary be defeated at last.
The Choir is also extremely impressed. Sephiroth has enjoyed the action and mystery, Zack too, and Cloud has begun sitting with his feet up on chairs and is considering being a detective. Genesis's comments are a bit too offensive for public viewing, but don't worry, Angeal smacked him on the head for them.
I'm sad. And excited, and exhilirated, and everything has that wee-I-have-a-new-fandom-to-explore smell. And, hey...I can read fanfic now! *grumble* After typing, of course. That new Decorum won't type up itself.
So, in closing, thank you to Scripta and her L for dragging me into this. (Also, once Sephy is less creeped out by him, if you have a Near over there, feel free to send him over sometime to play with Sora and Cloud.) Thank you for helping me with my anime-phobia. And everyone else, keep recommending other anime for me to check out. Anything with yaoi-ish overtones goes to the top of the pile, by the way.
And L, rest in peace. And by "peace", I mean wherever Scripta keeps you.

Sephy: "I am not!"
But maybe someday I'll acquire one. He'd make a nice friend for Cloud, maybe. Cloud could make him more cheerful.

Sephy: Hey!
Me: Anyway, I still stand with Sephy-Pants on this one. I don't want to be in the same room as Near.

Yay fanfic time

This one is actually finished and is funny in it's crackish nature.
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4029915/1/Genius_is_a_Curse
Deep and kinda cool I'm bored with it at the moment, but that is just my short attention span.

Just read everything by her you wont regret it, you might want to start with Momento Mori first, or The Scream which is totally awesome in everything but the ending completely sucks ass but is so cool at the same time if you know what I mean. And try all of her favorites they're all awesome too.
And finally http://www.fanfiction.net/s/3966181/1/The_Prince
One of the Holy Grails of Death Note ff, I bow to its awesomeness of angst, berayals and Xanatos Roulette.
I have just one more thing you actually may want to avoid because of shear time wasting I guarantee http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/XanatosRoulette You shall giggle at rule 34.

Maybe I was a little heartless for laughing when Raito (NOT Light) died, but he said "I don't wanna die", like, 20 times. 19 exactly, I think. My friend and I counted at one point. When we were cosplaying as the Death Note group, we picked up book 12 and laughed at all our deaths. I got shot, like, a hundred times. T_T

There are very good movies out there with real actors. You will find plenty of BL movies out there, but my favorite hands down are:
Sukitomo
Boys Love 2006 (film) It has a manga which is really good, too.
Ai no Kotodama
I think you mentioned once that you were a fan of Gackt. Am I correct on that one? Either way, MOON CHILD is the movie to watch.

There are some really nice cosplayers around, when I went to London´s anime con, there was Kira and L shackled together, with L constantly squatting down, lol
I like Inuyasha a lot (and some of other anime as well).
And lol, I like the way your Choir reacted to DN! :o))

The movies! I can't wait to see the movies! *pouts at pile of typing I have to do*

Me: *groooowls* Back off, Death Note fanatics. She's ours!
lol jk jk. But seriously, I hope you don't forget about CC or Zack'll be sad.

Well, I wouldn't. Don't worry, I wouldn't abandon Crisis Core. I love my Choir too much!
Zack: "Damn."

As far as anime recommendations, I'm currently enjoying Saiunkoku Monogatari (Story of Saiunkoku). The main character is one of the few female characters I do NOT want to kill because she is very much a strong (yet feminine) character that I relate very well with.
Anyway, the plot: The MC, Shuurei, if from a noble, but very poor family in an ancient China-esc mythic kingdom called Saiunkoku. As part of a financial arrangement for her family, she agrees to enter the young emperor's harem as his consort and tutor (because he's lazy and isn't doing his job as the emperor). She says okay because the emperor (who is so omigod sexy)has a tendency to bed men. So she thinks he's gay and therefore not going to bother her sexually. In truth, he's actually bisexual, but Shuurei thinks he's in love with her body guard and childhood friend Seiran.
I love it, it's like Fuushigi Yuugi with slashable characters and not-annoying heroine. A strong female in any anime is rare, but this one is great fun for me, the girl who likes romance, comedy, and a little bit of angst thrown in there (the emperor and Seiran have OMG!Dark pasts, as do several other characters... :D)

Cloud: *giggles*
Don't worry, Sephy keeps an eye on what he eats. He has to with both of them, or Cloud and Zack both end up with sugar highs and he can barely keep up with them. :)

I have to agree with Heather and your guru, although I haven't finished it, or read all the posted chapters anyway, since it's not finished yet, from what I've read, Poison apple is really good. I fully intend on finishing it someday, when i have time. Probably when you're done with Madness, since most of my time is spent reading either Madness or Tenacity, and Madness is going to be finished before Tenacity.
Damn, I'm rambling again, and this one isn't related to yaoi. Hmm, Light loves L!!! There, now it's yaoi related.

When episode 25 ended, I really thought I would hate Light for the rest of all time, and yet at the end of the end, we all feel sorry for him.
If you want more excellent anime that's 'serious' in theme, my first recommendation would be Code Geass; it's intellectual like Death Note, absolutely brilliant, and has virtually canon yaoi (of the 'close childhood friends reunited and both very pretty' variety :P) ;D If you don't mind mecha, then Gundam 00, Gundam Wing, Gundam SEED are all great. If you want completely serious, quite dark (and no mecha :P), Wolf's Rain is awesome. I'm a massive anime fan, so the list goes on, but those would be my rec's based on what you seem to be into :)

Rem, really? Reminds me of my fourth-grade Halloween mummy costume. Did you get a lot of people sobbingly asking you why you killed L? *sniffles*
Zack: "Oh, please don't start sobbing again."
*sniffle* Yeah, I really felt sorry for Light, even if he is a homicidal maniac. I kept hoping he would reform.

Yeah...I think dying quietly and with a little dignity was really all we could hope for him, but that didn't make me cry over it any less *sniffles too*

It's also one of the few manga I've ever seen that takes place solely in America (with one ep where they vacation in England).
