Yes, here I am, posting AGAIN. I've been glued to the Weapon of Mass Distraction the past couple days, which means for the next few days I will probably at least try to avoid it and maybe even *fingers crossed* catch up on writing.
Until then, my evil accomplice
9thavenuenorth has demanded to know the theme songs of my dear Choir members. Hmm, difficult. I already knew Cloud's and Genesis's, but that left EmoPuppy, EpheboAngeal and Captain Obvious. All of whom insisted upon approving their chosen songs. GAH. So here's what they and I chose together - the Choir theme songs.
First up, the most obvious. Tell me this one is not made for Cloud. "Charmed Life", by Leigh Nash.
Next up, Genesis. Originally I got this idea from a different Genesis tribute, but it's disappeared, and though I don't like this one quite as much, the song is still his. "I'm Still Here", by John Rzeznik.
And now Zack. There are way too many for him, mostly ones he dismissed as too emo. So I shall cheat and give a sample of two. (You can probably guess that this theme-song thing is a work in progress.) "Angels on the Moon" by Thriving Ivory and "Believe" by Yellowcard.
Sephy was also difficult. His main request was that I give him something appropriately dark, even though he's a big softy who finger-paints with Cloud and lets kittens bat his hair. The top two choices are "Breath" by Breaking Benjamin (which I've shared before, because SilverThorneIris is goddess who needs to update her fic :)), and "From Yesterday" by 30 Seconds to Mars.
And that leaves only Angeal. Turns out he's as cheesy as I am. "Everything I Do (I Do It For You)" by Bryan Adams.
Zack: *hides face*

(I only have one theme song, and it's for my crazy!degrading!Gen, and it's "Locked Up" by Ingrid Michaelson. Because it mentions being angry and throwing apples.)

Really liked Zack and Sephiroth, and Genesis' was just plain badass! Nice music taste!

I am finally finished with school! Also I have finally gotten my beautiful repaired laptop back. In penance for the terrible lateness, I'm writing you a Zangeal from scratch: a fic where Angeal actually adopts Zack at a young-ish age. I promise there will be many parental overtones. :P

SQUEE OMIGOD I WANT, thank you! I shall await it eagerly. Also Angeal. And Genesis, with a pleased smirk on his face. Zack...um...we'll see how Zack takes it. :)

Thank you. :)

LOL, I must look that one up...

The Cloud one especially, his expression <3

Breath is DEFINITELY Seph's song. It always reminds me of his inner conflict... *gazes wistfully into the distance, sheds a single, silvery tear*
And dude, what the crap? I'm Still Here and Believe have been my character songs for... ages.
I spent the entirety of Everything I Do imagining Angeal in Rick Astley get-up and pulling fists of air down towards his face. So pedo. Ten bucks says he'd sing that song mega sexy, though. Rawr?

Oh, music... *tries not to rant*
Now that I finally finished listening to all the songs (yep, all, even though I knew most of them already) to catch what I call their 'mood', I can finally say that they fit your choir. All those songs bring out something that destinctly reminds me of your muses (or choir members), and the way you write them.
I totally agree with your choices for Sephiroth, by the way, I knew both songs before and they always reminded me of him (I still can't write him though... just realized again being stuck with the current chapter of my fanfic).
As for SilverThoneIris (part of my devine trinity next to Sphinx and you), I can tell you that she really, really wants to continue with that story (especially after our looong conversations when I visited her in February), but her (real) life is extremely busy and demanding, and all the writing she can fit in is for her original work and for another fandom (not Bleach, I'm sorry). I tried my best to convince her, since I loved that story I lot, but it might not happen (or at least not soon...). She is doing well though, and I actually told her that most people I talk to instantly recognize her name and admire her creations deeply.
As for me, as important as music is to me, I couldn't decide for a single theme song for each of my muses for the life of me. Songs tend to represent connections/dynamics between characters (as you know from my original story) and/or different situations or phases in their lives for me, not a character as such.
Yet, a song that is very much Genesis (and I know it's cliche) is "Savin' Me" by Nickelback, especially since it somehow inspired one part of that 'memory'-Intro to my current story, and roughly at the same time I wrote this, SilverThorne made a Genesis tribute with the very same song... That stuck for some reason.
Couldn't tell you about Zack or Cloud though, since I don't write them (anymore), so I never thought about them in terms of music (for a long time).
Oh, and "Everything I do" was one of the few pop songs I played on the piano when I was younger...

I've always associated "Believe" by Yellowcard to Zack thanks to that amv... I love it ♥ And it fits him really well. It's such a beautiful song.
Yay, 30 seconds to Mars!
Angeal's theme may be cheesy but it's really cute x3 I love Bryan Adams. And his voice... Seriously, I love a man with a husky voice. *drools*

Angeal's song made my day. Now whenever it comes up in my music I'll imagine him singing!
Also, for some reason whenever I listen to "Creep" by Radiohead I think of Sephiroth. Which is why I have him like this on my desktop >.>

As long as SilverThorne is doing well...though I do hope she comes back one day. Her fic was great and her videos left me breathless. *hugs them* It's kinda awesome that we came to worship her independently like that!
Can you still play it on the piano? Oh, it's so cheesy but I adore that song... :)

Rick Astley? Dear Gaia, scary images. Now I'll have nightmares of Angeal with red hair...

Angeal... with red hai- *imagines* AAAAAAUGH! THE HORROR!
I'll never eat Chees-Its again! Thankfully they don't sell them here.

Re: Oh, music... *tries not to rant*
Sometimes I'm worried that people might get mildly upset with me for connecting everything to music and lyrics, so it's always good to know that there are fellow souls out there who understand.
I really hope that, too.
Technically, I assume I could still play it, but practically, I don't have a piano anymore (I've been thinking about getting a keyboard for quite a while now, but I'm afraid I won't have time to play really).
If I find some time during the summer holidays, I'll try to find the old piano sheets and see if I could adapt it for the harp. It's one of those songs that would actually sound good... (but I'll have to see, since I have a harp that is limited in some way when it comes to tonality. I can't switch keys while playing, so if the song does, I'm pretty much stuck.)
PS:
The only really cheesy song that goes with a certain scene in my original story ("Making love out of nothing at all" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BJ4wDIs21Mk , mainly because of the certain passages in its lyrics) has - funny coincident - a 'background-melody-baseline' similar to "Everything I do" (meaning it uses the same notes and a similar way of paying with them; in the piano versions of both songs, it's even more obvious).

Genesis: "'Geal with red hair...horrifying."
Please tell me you at least have Pop Tarts.

Mmm, only you and Miss Ammy can pull it off.
You work it physically, and she works it phsycologically.
Teamwork.
Well, yes, but they're difficult to come by and very expensive.
You have to get involved with the black market and all that, and then they're, like, $15 for a box of 6. *sigh* My friend said she'd send me some, but I'm still waiting on them...
I hear there are crazy new flavours.
Re: PS:
LOL, for some reason, I'm getting an image of Zack and Angeal slow-dancing. *happy sigh*

:) Pervert Twin Powers - Activate!
Black market...for Pop Tarts. You are a crazy people. Yes, many flavors, but mostly ugh. I stick to the chocolate fudge or the cinnamon.
no subject
Chocolate fudge?! What in Dickens' name...?!
I haven't had a Pop Tart for... about a decade. : | I miss those little guys. Cinnamon sounds like triple-super-duper-cinnamon-deluxe-and-a-half to me, right now.
Re: PS:
In a way, this song goes very much with my characterization, as I have one character who is quite used to being popular and to always knowing exactly what to do (as the lyrics imply), until one day he meets this other person who seems 'not his type' for so many reasons, but manages to simply sweep him off his feet.
Oh yeah, those mental images... (a friend of mine once randomly mentioned 'Hojo in a string', and I took me quite a while to get rid of that image.)
They make you do weird things. Like having a dance scene between Angeal and Gen in my multichapter at some point. It sounds hilarious (and I actually did it for a bit of 'comic relief'), but I can assure you that it's justified (I had to come up with a good reason, since it's a serious story). Still, it wasn't slow-dancing...
*hugs* to America!
Re: PS:
Hojo...string...oh Gaia.
Sephy: "I have to...go now. Excuse me."
:) *hugs back*

They're devious, though. I don't think they're proper tarts at all. Aren't tarts supposed to be like little pies? Educate me, fellow former-English cousin.
no subject
Simply rub butter on the lenses of your spectacles.
I think tarts just have to contain some kind of jam-like filling. So technically they are tarts.
My grandma makes these little biscuits and puts jam on top and tells me they're tarts, so I'm pretty flexible with pastry names.
Re: PS:
Hojo is the most unsexy (does that word even exist?) person in the entire game, in my opinion (he even beats Hollander by far...).
That is the reason why I don't have a Hojo-muse around here. There's a Hollander-muse though, but he is locked into the bottom drawer of my desk.
I prefer staring at certain other muses. Sometimes even dreamily... ;)
(though Sasha-muse always complains when I stare at Alan-muse for too long... According to him, only he has the right to do so.)
More *hugs*

I will call them pseudo-tarts. That's as far as I'm willing to go.

They're going to come after you, though.
