You know that kind of writer's-block where you want to work on just one thing, but your brain is gleefully saying "Nope!" and instead hurling incessant plot-bunnies at you instead? And how you might be typing or doing email or something and think "I could totally write, right now", but then you sign off and your muses run off? And how you're trying to think, but one of your muses is playing something loudly in the background? Still with me? Anyone? Bueller?

Fine, Genesis, I'll bite. What the hell are you watching and why did you call me over? You know I still have issues with older anime.

Genesis: "It's called Zetsuai or Bronze or something, I don't know, but that's not the important thing. Who does that uke-looking fellow remind you of?"

Hmmm.

Genesis: *eyeroll* "I'll give you a hint. He's angsty, he likes to attack people while they're in hospital beds, and he seems to be boffing the voice of that dreamy Naoe."

Omigod, you found a Takaya-cousin?

Genesis: "Apparently, we Choir aren't the only ones who have distant relatives. Ooh, I found another Seph-cousin too, see? We probably shouldn't tell him that Hayami Sho is the seiyuu. You know how he's been about that one since Yami No Matsuei."

True. So, uh, what's going on in this anime?

Genesis: *cheerfully* "No fucking idea. I'm just waiting for the sex scene. There had better be one, damn it."
Sephy: *enters room* "What is going on?"

AGH! Mute, Genesis, mute!

Genesis: "But I might miss sexy noises!"
Sephy: *eyes narrow* "Muraki-Voice..."
Genesis: "Oops."
Sephy: "I demand that you emerge from that screen and fight!"

Nice one, Gen, you've sent him into Great-Uke-Defender Mode.

Sephy: *lunges for screen*
Cloud: *tackles, OmniSlashes, snuggles the unconscious heap that is Sephy*
Angeal: *enters, holding Zack under one arm* "Nicely done, little one."
Zack: *smirk* "And that, Genesis, is why you and Amarissia are not allowed to open the Mirage of Blaze portal."
Genesis: *blink* "Angeal, kindly tell your wife to bite me. Sucking is also welcome."
Zack: *growl, flail*

...I have to go now. In tribute to the Portal-That-Must-Not-Be-Named Opened, I leave you with an awesome MoB vid. Also to taunt Kel_fish. We'll make a drooling, raving insanely confused fan out of you yet!

I hate writer's block. HATE IT. HATE IT HATE IT HATE IT. And my brain will throw plot-bunnies left and right at the most inconvenient times, in the middle of a scene, or rehearsal when I can't write, or when I wake up to go to the bathroom or something and my brain is being all sluggish.

OM NOM NOM NOM BRONZE. XDDDDDD
Friday, January 29th, 2010 10:55 pm (UTC)
I love love love love love Zetsuai/Bronze. SO MUCH!
Friday, January 29th, 2010 11:02 pm (UTC)
Writer's block is always a pain. Or when you get a plot bunny that you realise will never never ever work once you sit down to type it. Or the great plot you worked out that has hundreds of twists and turns, but one plot gap that only became glaringly obvious once you typed it up and re-read it. Oh, lack of good ideas, why must you torment us so?
Bronze, eh? And did I hear sex scenes being mentioned? That has to go on the list... Where's the end so I can add it... *Five hours later* Aha! Found the end!... Good grief, no wonder I have no social life...
Friday, January 29th, 2010 11:06 pm (UTC)
At least it's not just me... :)
Friday, January 29th, 2010 11:07 pm (UTC)
Oh good, you can explain it then? I think I may have started somewhere in the middle, although it did say part one. Am I not supposed to know exactly who the Seph-looking-rock star is, and the soccer player?

GAH.
Friday, January 29th, 2010 11:08 pm (UTC)
:) I don't know if it has any sex scenes. Genesis got cut off in the above scuffle...

Something about either paper or writing utensils just silences every creative impulse in my head, I think. GAH.
Friday, January 29th, 2010 11:57 pm (UTC)
Meh, I'll find out about the sex scenes or lack thereof in about five years, once I've worked my way down the list... -_-
At least you actually have good ideas. All mine sound ok, until I start to write them up, and I realise the intro is waaaaaaay too long, the characters are terribly OOC (my pet peeve), or I discover someone else has already done it, and my new idea was just me rewriting theirs. One day, I will have an awesome idea... One of these days! Eventually!

Heck, the Choir probably has cousins everywhere due to the 50 Japanese Seiyuu Effect. Which means Seph is more and more likely to run into a Muraki-voice, and therefore Cloud needs to keep his Limit Break meter full. Shouldn't be too hard to top off, just pimp slap Genesis whenever you walk by him.

Haha, Zack got pwned. Next time try being a wiseass when you're not being carried around like a sack of potatoes. :D

The rock star is Koji, and he's fantastic and a little crazy. He's very, very famous but he's only 16, and he's very unhappy. One night he gets really drunk and thrown out of a bar and he passes out in the rain, and the soccer player (Izumi) who is also 16, is out jogging and finds him. He takes Koji back to his apartment (He lives alone. He has a brother or maybe a little sister, I can't remember, who was adopted when their parents died, but Izumi wanted no part of adoption. When he was a kid he saw his mother kill his father because he'd cheated on her (it might be the other way around), and he's very scarred and weird because of that). Anyway, he takes Koji back to his place and nurses him back to health through the night, and then the next morning when Koji wakes up Izumi tells him he's stupid for acting like he did (drinking and passing out) and that he should grow up and blah blah blah.

SO THEN. Koji becomes like, completely obsessed with him. Their relationship isn't healthy at all, but it's still gorgeous. Koji follows him around and keeps showing up. Izumi gets sick and passes out during a soccer game, and Koji takes him back to his apartment this time. Anyway, Izumi is very reclusive and doesn't want to let anyone but his younger siblings close, and so he is Not Okay with Koji's obvious advances.

This goes on for quite a while, with Izumi getting slowly closer to Koji (but not much), and Koji getting more and more desperate to have Izumi, and Koji is kind of insane and he breaks into Izumi's apartment one night, and he says he wants to 'make love' to Izumi, who says no (most likely because Koji is like, crazy melodramatic and obviously disturbed here), and so Koji rapes him. They don't show it in the anime, but it's pretty heavily implied.

That's where Zetsuai ends. Bronze picks up from there. I don't remember that one quite as well, so you'll have to wikipedia it, lol. But it's fantastic, full of angst and sorrow and hurt and incredible love and a happy ending. :D

what's MoB stand for? I've never heard of it....at least I don't think so...
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 04:14 am (UTC)
I know that feeling well... TT.TT It comes up whenever I sit down to work on my Gravitation / Star Ocean 3 fics... I just get so many plot bunnies! And at the damndist of times too...
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 07:09 am (UTC)
(one of the people who loves Zetsuai the MANGA and not the anime)

just one word : DRAMA!

i have Koji's cds! XD (or should i say Hayami-slash-Koji's cd?)

Bronze and Zetsuai need to be read in chronological time to understand whats going on. back then i read the prequel instead of the sequel, so i kinda got confused.

the drawing might put you off at first, but i went ahead and read to the latest chapter and actually loves it ^______^

but if you're one of those who doesnt like DRAAAMMAAAA, i guess you cant really enjoy Zetsuai.
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 11:34 am (UTC)
LOL! I love Sephy in the great uke defender mode. But apparently it has negative effect on the furniture... And Genesis - ;oD

::Genesis: *blink* "Angeal, kindly tell your wife to bite me. Sucking is also welcome."::

Gen, I love your pervy self forever! ;oD

Saturday, January 30th, 2010 05:06 pm (UTC)
Aha, yes, that makes sense. Thank you! No wonder GenGen got drawn in so quickly, this is just the sort of thing he and I would watch and giggle over while the rest of the Choir gives us disapproving glares.

Must watch in entirety, oh yes....
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 05:07 pm (UTC)
I LOVE drama! MoB fan, remember? I figure if I can handle Naoe slinking around to his percussion-music-of-crazy, I can handle pretty much anything.

HEE.
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 05:10 pm (UTC)
The thing is, I had thought we'd gotten Sephy desensitized to Hayami-san's voice. Uh, that's why I watch Mirage of Blaze so much. YEAH! :) But I guess he's always gonna lose it when he finds a new character with that voice.

Cloud: "Don't worry, I'll take care of Seph. Sometimes he just needs to be Omnislashed, then cuddled."
Sephy: *smile, pat* "I appreciate it, Puppet."
Zack: *wiggle* "Yeah, you try getting out of Angeal's grip when he's being stubborn! I swear, it's like fighting a brick wall!"
Angeal: *smile*
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 05:13 pm (UTC)
*twitch* Mirage of Blaze. Best love story ever, because it has large amounts of crazy. And reincarnated samurai obsessively in love with each other. And ninjas! Autistic ninjas! Well, just the one, but still.

Zack: "Please don't get her ranting about the gay samurai again."
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 05:14 pm (UTC)
Gravitation? GRAVITATION? SQUEE! I'm not familiar with Star Ocean 3, but I love Gravitation!
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 05:16 pm (UTC)
Genesis: *bows elegantly* "I live to please. And to vex Puppy. He makes such cute faces when he's angry."
Sephy: "Do excuse my behavior. Apparently I still have some...issues with that particular seiyuu. Fortunately, Cloud is always close by to keep me from harming anyone. Except occasionally Genesis. And I am willing to accept that."
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 05:31 pm (UTC)
Oh, I am jealous! I've been trying to find the Manga to read, but I didn't think it had been translated into English. Is it lovely?
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 08:49 pm (UTC)
Oh, dear god. I don't have any problems writing-er, thinking, but when I sit down to write, it's all...*poof* gone.

*wrestles with a SG1/SGA BDSM PWP*

The worst is when I'm trying to sleep.
Saturday, January 30th, 2010 09:18 pm (UTC)
Gravitation is pretty awesome. I'm a die-hard Ryuichi/Shuichi fan. (^u^)
Sunday, January 31st, 2010 06:19 am (UTC)
o___O you havent read the manga?

oh yes, they have been scanlated ^__^ and i prefer the manga rather than the anime (but Hayami-san and Koyasu-san made the anime bearable)

i used to download them here : http://white-sobriquet.livejournal.com/27423.html

hope the link works. =3
Sunday, January 31st, 2010 06:23 am (UTC)
its almost like having Naoe as a singer, Takaya as the football-er in this manga XD

Koji is obsessed with Takuto

Takuto at first indenial of his attraction to Koji

the funny thing is that both of them deny they are gay!

Koji - i'm a womanizer, the only man i WILL ONLY EMBRACE is my lover, Takuto.

Takuto - i tried staring at neked men in the changing room...............(2 hours later) nope, still havent got a boner.

Koji - but if i touch you.... you'll scream and scream in ecstasy...>=3

Takuto - ....baka....

Naoe - why cant you act more kewt like him, Takaya-san?

Takaya - (vein pop) Bishamonten punch! (punch Naoe across the Sengoku land)

me and you - =______=; um....
Sunday, January 31st, 2010 06:28 am (UTC)
MoB stands for Many (geh) Orgies Behind the scenes XD

so true, Mirage has the tragic romance ever, not to mention the angst and the insanity.

btw, you might enjoy Sengoku Basara. its an anime adapted from the game. the characters are Takeda, Uesugi, Date etc. but in this anime, the main character is Date Masamune and his retainer, Kojyuuro (where Mirage fans in Japan all saw Naoe and Takaya from them XD but off course, in the master-servant sense of feeling. no lust, just loyalty ^___^)
Sunday, January 31st, 2010 06:30 am (UTC)
nobody tried Ryuu/Eiri pairing... i wonder why...(bimbo mode)
Sunday, January 31st, 2010 03:49 pm (UTC)
That's it. I need to watch MoB again because I definitely don't remember all those gropage scenes (but of course that could be contributed to the fact I was watching the dubbed version on TV sbout two years ago so my brain's a little sketchy).

And I know about the plot bunnies. They usually strike me when I'm falling asleep or when I really need to take notes in school and then when I actually have the time to write....nothing.
Sunday, January 31st, 2010 11:12 pm (UTC)
I'm praying that your writer's block or inability to write or w/e go away soon cuz I'm being forced to read Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice and I swear it's going to make me bash my head into a wall if the level of estrogen and preppiness in it don't go down a few notches really soon. Or if I get to read some or your wonderful writing (yes I'm being a kiss-ass but I don't care right now)
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 06:58 pm (UTC)
Oh dear. I'll see what I can do. I'm not a fan of Austen either.

:) If I remember correctly, you can find Mirage of Blaze on Veoh.com.
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 07:38 pm (UTC)
Actually, I have seen them paired once...but it was an angsty, Yuki-is-drunk-and-thinks-it's-Shuuichi thing.
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 07:38 pm (UTC)
:) Really? I don't think I could ever pair them, I see them both as total bottoms. Soooo, which one do ya think is the uke?
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 07:41 pm (UTC)
Sounds interesting...Kojyuuro? The same Kojyuuro who was trying to get Kojiro to come back to the Date? YAY, familiar faces! Well, names.

LOL, if only we had gotten to see some of those orgies...
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 07:43 pm (UTC)
I have decided that Takuto and Koji are totally former lives of Naoe and Takaya. Kuwabara-sensei just decided not to tell us, but it's clearly them. :) I mean, if you close your eyes and listen, you can hardly tell it's Koji talking and not Naoe! He says the same sort of things!
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 08:07 pm (UTC)
Shuichi's uke. With Ryuichi, I like how he also has a serious side and can see him as seme should he 'revert' back to his serious self. I also like the idea of him 'being more than he seems' and being able to hold his own in most situations. I'm not sure if that makes sense.
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 09:17 pm (UTC)
I do see what you mean. One of the things I like about Ryuu-chan is that you're never entirely sure how he's going to act, and when he's being all chibi, you don't know how much of it is an act. He's quite facinating, and yes, he must be very capable to handle the pressures of being a famous musician.

Yeah, I guess Shuuichi would be the uke. I can't quite see him dominating...anyone, really. :)
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 10:32 pm (UTC)
Agreed. Shuichi will forever be an uke. XP
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 11:47 pm (UTC)
Koji was voiced by two people, but the anime version of him was by Hayami-san. while some of Koji's songs were sang byanother dude (cant remember his name though)

as for Izumi, Seki-san didn't voice him but Koyasu Takehito. the drama cd covered Zetsuai prequel manga plot closely. enjoyable to hear than watching the cramped and cut ova.
Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010 11:51 pm (UTC)
yes ^__^ the guys are more handsome, and with personality XD especially young Masamune who likes to add English comments and short phrases in his talk.
